The USA distributor does not have the extended battery kits.
The carrier sometimes makes a deal with RIM over certain accessories and they become the distributor for that SKU. Same with Nextel... in order for us to get the kits we have to have a relationship with Sprint.
I would certainly try to get these through Verizon but they don't even know if they have them?!

Verizon does have them, guaranteed. I am looking at a packing slip for one of them and the information is as follows:
Item # ACC-10561-002
Item Description BAT:RIM7130EXTENDEDBA
CAVEAT: Read carefully that we are a business and have a special phone number to contact Verizon. We actually have our own rep and we call him directly. It is very possible that the consumer Verizon salespeople don't even have access to this information. If everyone just CORDIALLY states that they are very interested in getting this battery from Verizon then they will probably let it out to consumers sooner than later. They seem to be pretty good about responding to customer concerns.

I certainly will if none of the US leads pays off. But, there is some indication that the US versions are less expensive. I saw one price at $49 US, as opposed to $89 CAN (which converts to ~$79 US) from Mark. And if it is possible for my brother-in-law to get one through his business, well, I wouldn't have to pay full retail price. Too, it probably would be quicker and less expensive on the shipping front.
I'm very grateful Mark is willing to ship to us here in the States. If these other leads don't pan out in the next couple of days, Mark will be hearing from me.

Ours invoice at 59.99 from Verizon. Also, someone said that Mark's were not the same color as the 7130e. The covers we get from Verizon are an exact match as far as color goes.

Correct. Mark's covers are black to match the Rogers 7130e. He doesn't have access to the Verizon battery doors. I just can't imagine why they're not making them available to the consumer if they're available. That's very, very odd to me.

I just got off the phone with Verizon Customer support and placed the order for this battery, the posted price of 59.99 is correct and will take 7-10 days. My BB is my personal device and did not need to go through the business division or rep. If/When you do, the initial search they could not locate the battery until I provided the part no. provided by baconismidog
Hope this helps and if ya'll knew this already, then never mind

Ordered 2 from my Verizon business rep using part # supplied earlier in thread. They arrived today. Cost for 2 was $108 including tax and shipping to NJ. Silver door matches perfectly. Bulge in door is about 3/16 of an inch.
Battery arrived with 30% charge. Anxious to see how long it lasts vs standard.

I just finished ordering the extended battery from Verizon, using the part number posted earlier in the thread. The front line CSR was not able to locate the part (although she was extremely nice) so she escalated my call to Telesales. The Telesales rep took my order and the extended battery will arrive on my doorstep Wednesday. Took all of 10 minutes to complete the transaction.
One thing: the Telesales rep couldn't tell whether or not the door was included, but the price is $59.99 as stated earlier in the thread, so I'm assuming it ships with the door.

Verizon 7130E extended battery
June 7 2006: The information in the posting (early May 2006) quoted below was indeed enough for me to get the extended battery ordered. The US tollfree number for Verizon accessories/telesales (they seem to want to call it "accessories", rather than telesales) is 866 894 6848. Explain to the rep that you want the extended battery for the 7130E and they'll probably NOT be able to find it at the outset. If you then suggest the item # below (ACC-...) that is enough to find it. I'm just an ordinary verizon wireless consumer in the US and with the exception of the extra step to identify the item, it can be ordered. I did suggest to the CSR that they try to market the item aggressively directly to consumers, and he told me he'd forward that suggestion.
Tks,
Dave
