Can we all agree to agree that this user^^ was the first on BBF to "report" this? And that he has a HUGE chip on his shoulder?

I think it's rather comical that people are listening to the RIM spin machine. Do you actually believe they planned to launch this device in August all along? Mid-to-late August for that matter? Do you think RIM would admit to a delay? The original launch date was for June on AT&T with AT&T having a 6-month world wide exclusive. That was triple confirmed almost 4 months ago. Don't believe me? Ask the Jibster. Enter huge delays with the product, as per RIM's usual track record, and enter iPhone release date. I'd expect better from people that are constantly on their toes looking for as much information on upcoming BlackBerry products than to trust a PR manager for RIM at some 3rd rate press event as far as a "delay" is concerned. Maybe all those analysts that reported on it after I did are wrong as well.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Was just commenting on this thread specifically. More than happy you reported both sides of the story though.

Okay guys, settle down. If the BB Bold is released in August, that will be great!
What I want to know is a firm date for the release of the BB Javelin. As far as I know RIM has not yet announced it. Does anyone have up-to-date info? My spouse needs to make a decision between the Bold and Javelin. Thanks.

He is "history".
Hope we all can move forward now and look to the release in August! In the mean time us 4.5 users have much to look forward to late tonight when RIM flips the switch on BIS 2.5!

A little off track here, but since we're waiting for another 2 months for the Bold and the 4.5 OS upgrade is all we have for the moment, I have one question:
When RIM "flips the switch" on BIS 2.5 tonight, will that mean that I will get HTML email? I have a unlocked 8310 with OS 4.5 on T-Mobile. Does T-Mobile have to upgrade anything to support it, or is RIM's update sufficient? Also, do I have to change any settings or anything on the phone to get the full functionality?

Nevermind.
I should always search before asking a dumb question. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
T-Mobile will support it and all I have to do is re-send my service books...

And now back to our regularly scheduled *****ing and moaning about the delay in the release of the Bold...

Yep, send your service books and then go to email options and click yes on the "Use HTML email" and you should be ready to go. A battery pull would likely not hurt, too!
It is not as good as having a Bold, but it will have to do till it gets here!
Enjoy!

ATxxx038;T roadmap leaks out : Boy Genius Report
According to the AT&T roadmap, the Bold comes out by the end of Q3. Sounds like we're getting it in September.
Maybe July 11th isn't such a bad idea...

I already own an iPhone with AT&T, so I wouldn't have to switch. I happen to love the device, I just prefer BB's...to a point. I'm probably going to wait for the Bold, but I can't help but be annoyed by the lack of an actual release date.
However, all iPhone users get 2.0 and the App Store on July 11th. If there is some really cool stuff available, that my sway me.

I wouldn't need to try it, I know what it does. The new version is simply going to have 3G and GPS, which is nice but otherwise the phone won't be that different. The Bold is much sexier to me, quite frankly. I'm really hoping RIM makes good on their browser promise, however. If they can put something out that can even come close to Safari, it's a done deal.
