Default Problem changing sig & Desktop Maager

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I want to change my default sig on my 8120, I've seen loads of postings refeing to using the Blackberry Desktop Manager, go to E,mail options etc. etc. but I dont appear to have these settings?

Having launched the Desktop Manager I have 5 icon options, Synchronize, Backup and Restore, Application Loader, Switch Device Wizard & Synchronize Certificates.

On the options on the left hand side I have "Connection Settings" and "Data Folder settings"

Where can I find these hiding E-mail settings and am I missing oter options that I should have ?

Many Thanks

Wirelessly posted

You change your sig on your carriers BIS webpage.

Thanks for the advice, however I am using o2 in the uk and struggled to find info for them.

I can use the E-mail settings on the blackberry and get to the o2 address I created but no mention of my work address. If I choose edit from here I can see the sig but cant seem to change it directly. If I click the "?" I get an http 404 error :(

Help... this is really driving me mad now.

Should this be possible from the desktop software?

Thanks

There are two different methods, depending on the type of email setup.

For BES users you can go to Messages >Options >Email Settings.

For BIS users you have to log on using the PC (the email setup on the device won't take you to that....i don't think.)

Changing the sig isn't possible from the Desktop Manager.

If you are on BES, the setting can be changed in the Message Options, I thought.

There should be a link for the o2 BB email setup on their website.

Sig can be changed for BES users in Desktop Manager or directly on the device but not for BIS users.

Now I'd confused, we run a Blackberry Enterprise Server here, I cannot seem to sind the option on the desktop manager (installed on my laptop) - I have gove to the server and found an option in there for signature (which is blank) - added on in there and it still hasn't made a difference.
It seems really, really hard to make a really, really simple change ? - Am I missing something fundemental here?

Thanks for all the help

In order to change it in Desktop Manager, DM has to be installed for BES use, and connected to the email profile and the server. Then it's under email settings.

For BES users it's easiest to just change this on the device.

Hi,

For O2 you need to go to BlackBerry Internet Service and set up there first.

Once you have all the email accounts added you set your default signatures for each one from the control panel.

Is this the only way as we are running BES, the sig. on Bes appears to be blanks

ok, stranger and stranger......

Mysig. from the BES has now gone... dont know how but its now blank. Not sure if I'm brave enough to try and change it again..., however I still have the sig on my o2 e-mail address.

If I go to the web site and enter my username and password it just comes up with a "check details and try aain" - if I choose the "lost password" option I can enter my user name and it says the password has been sucessfuly sent to the blackberry device, but I dont actually receive anything :(

I didn't create the o2 account on the web site initially I created i on the bb when setting it up initally but the e-mail actually works fine to a from....

very, very strange.

Thanks for all the ongoing help.

I'm having similar trouble to this gentleman. I can't change my signature either on the device, have no option on the DM, and when I go to log into the BIS for Verizon -- my PC gets a "Your account is not accessable via HTML browser, please use your device"

But when I put that same address into the browser line on the phone browser, it takes me to a screen where there's a "?" by the signature, and clicking there gets me a "404" error.

I don't understand why changing the signature has to be so terribly hard. It took 5 seconds on my Q -- couldn't have been simpler. I've been trying on my 8330 for 4 days now. Granted, only a couple minutes a day.... but my goodness, this is ridiculous.

Sorry, I'm frustrated.....
