USB issue with 2 BBs
Please Login to Remove!
I have a 7290 and a 7100t connected to my comp with two separate USB cables to each so both can charge.
The 7290 starts charging as soon as I connect it to the cable, but the 7100t is never recognized by my comp and I have to always do a search for new hardware on my comp to get the 7100t to start charging.
Is there a way to correct this?
The 7290 was the first BB I had, so is this a driver issue?

I would ask you these questions: When you search new hardware, are you able to locate the 7100t so that you can have both devices charging at the same time? Also, what happens if you connect the 7100t first, does the USB port find and recognize the device?

after hardware search, both charge at the same time.
7100t is not recognized when cable is connected, but only after hardware search.

Hmmm, that is interesting. The 7100t is not recognized when plugged into the USB port on its own, but you can find it when you do the hardware search. When the USB locates it, do drivers have to be installed each time to charge the 7100t?

I would go into Device Manager and remove all of your USB Controllers, Hubs and Root Hubs and then reboot your computer. This will re-install and configure your entire USB subsystem. I've done this before to fix USB detection problems and it worked well.

Please let me know if that works, I have run into similar detection issues on my laptop USB and will try this technique if it works for you.
