Default Battery drain

Please Login to Remove!

I installed 4.5 over the weekend and everything is working fine. I have noticed my battery draining much quicker. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Has anyone gotten Superpages Mobile (formally known as Infospace Find It!)to work? I've never used it before and I can't do anything with it. The program loads but I can't even change my location. It's like it's not using the internet or something. I used to use InfoSpace but they were bought out and I found Superpages at the InfoSpace site.

It is a known issue with 4.5...Hopefully it will be fixed when an official releas from BB comes out.

I'm using .42 and it happens with the VZ theme I have loaded but that didn't come with the OS. It doesn't happen with the O2 Zen theme which did come with the OS. Maybe just a coincidence.

Okay people, very dumb blonde here!! I thought I would try the 4.5 last night. So I clicked the link and it came on (in German) but I got it to start the download. After 2 hours (I still had 9 to go, slow dial up)I saw that I also had to upgrade the desk top and that down load was going to be waaay longer than the 11 hour one. Do I really have to do the desktop manager upgrade also to use the 4.5 Version? Also, one moree question, when the other 4.5 comes out I think you guys said the Rogers version, will there ever be a disk to buy with the upgrades on it? Thanks, Dot. Oh, I got the screen protector and it is wonderful, no more finger prints that smear the screen!!

I noticed the same thing on mine. Did battery pulls and everything and it didn't work. Then I set the backlight to turn off after 30 seconds from 45 seconds and now it seems to be working fine.

Check again, i don't think it fixes that easy. Try going to brighter light with auto dim set to OFF. I't SHOULDN'T brighten your screen up.

P.S. I'm on 4.5.0.42.

I recently upgraded my 8310 and i am happy about the addition of the video camera. Unfortunately, the upgrade also wiped my configuration details for the browser.

I have a standard mobile contract with Orange UK. I used to be able to connect with GPRS/EDGE but now i can't get any mobile internet.

I have read posts and so far, the only way to get this corrected is by sending service books from the BIS. I don't have a full BB data plan so i am unable to do this.

Has anybody else experienced this problem and if so, have you found a 'workaround' instead of having to pay out for a full data plan.

Cheers

Sorry about your luck but the fix for me was as simple as what I explained. I tested it several different times in various light conditions. Sorry its not working for you but its working for me.

I have my brightness set to 100%, backlight timeout set to 30 seconds and dim set to off.

Theres the reason you can't see it.

Try the following.

Set your brightness to the lowest then try it. Before it wouldn't light up from the lowest light setting.

P.S. My reason is to save battery life by setting to lowest light setting.

Just tried it with the backlight set to 10% and it still seemed to work fine. Maybe it's just a problem with yours?

Well they did fix something... anyone with a numerical password, it takes it out of the NUM lock after you put in your password (for the regular lock).

But thats only if you hit "Unlock" and type it in. I usually just put it in number mode and start typing, now it goes off of the lock as soon as you type the first character.

Otherwise it works well... I had to reinstall Facebook, and I miss the old browser's "Go to" page. But its running fine!

Nope, just the 8310. There should soon be a version of 4.5 for the 8300... keep watching.
