Do you think the same might work for 0.37?

Yeah, I tried the .10 and .18 radio on .37 and both would cause the same browser problems. I posted my results here:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/beta...tml#post943044
Also I have uploaded ONLY the 4.5.0.10 rim8320g.sfi file to rapidshare, I will post the link seeing as this file is worthless by itself and I think it will be acceptable to the moderators here. If not, please remove it if you like or I can edit it out.
RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting
You can confirm what version you have when you're in the application loader and it lists all the modules it's going to upgrade, hit the details button and at the top of the list will be the "rim8320g.sfi" file and it's versions. Remember if you want to load ONLY this file, you WILL have to reload the entire OS so be prepared to set aside an hour even if only upgrading the radio file.

I am trying .18 with .10 radio and, at the moment I have the WiFi logo and strong signal registering from my home Verizon router, but 'uma' is in lower case. Somehow, I am receiving emails, but the browsers don't work. In "WiFi Diagnostics" it says "UMA connection successful" so I don't know what to make of it.

Try shutting off all the radios for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Then turn only the wifi on and see if you get capitol UMA, if yes, then go ahead and enable the cell radio as well.
That would happen to me every now and then even with 4.2

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't fix it. I think I'll downgrade to 4.2 and see if UMA comes back, then take it from there.
It's odd, though. I've been using 4.5.0.18 for weeks with no major problems, just the occasional signal dropping.

Birthdays, Calendar, Other "personal" touches in 4.5

Yes, those are new since 4.2, but actually were included in 4.3 (8110). What is new for 4.5 is the inclusion of a contact picture in the email "from" field. Pretty exciting if you used to use a BB that didn't include that capability in contacts at all...

Memory leaks and battery charge...

When I was using a seed-stock 8100 that was sent out prior to official launch, the OS was a bit buggy, but the device almost always crashed when the battery was low. I noted you are using a 2600 mAh battery... I bet you are less prone to these problems.
Anyone else have the same experience with batteries/memory?

This is where OS 4.5 gets a bit interesting. If you look closely (under Wordpad) at the coding in the .alx files for 4.5, you will find not just Googletalk, but Yahoo Messenger as well as Windows Live Messenger. The vendorid codes are different for each program, showing that BB has plans to be a triple-agent depending upon carrier/web giant agreements. To enable whichever one, you'll need to "scrub" the .alx files for vendorid info before you install.
Though I don't use any but BB Messenger and Google, I have read that Googletalk supports the others, i.e., it's the only program you need.
Enjoy.

I use google talk with a MSN transport and an AIM transport and both work quite well. I've had it like this for about 2 years and it's worked very very well.

Update: I couldn't get 'uma' to upper-case all last night, even when I downgraded back to OS 4.2. The router was working fine. My computer was having no problem, and my wife's iPhone worked fine. It still seems odd to me that email was coming in okay, even though there was no EDGE label onscreen. At any rate, I gave up and went to bed. This morning, still no UMA, just uma. I took the dog out for a walk, and watched as the Curve switched to EDGE. When I came home, it went back to uma and then...UMA. Weird. The browser worked fine, but OperaMini didn't until I manually checked "Wi-Fi" in its Settings. Then when I left the house later, OperaMini wouldn't work until I manually unchecked Wi-Fi. I never had to do this before.
Apart from this quirk, the thing I notice about OS 4.5.0.18 with the .10 radio file is that sending photo attachments via email is much faster. Perhaps before there were lots of small connectivity hiccups that were slowing things down.

Ok, so I am using .18 with .10's radio file and noticed that voice dialing doesnt work with BT, but it works when the BT is not connected. This is unfortunate as I use BT in my car. But I can manually dial, its no biggie.
Has any one else with my setup able to use voice dialing with BT? It seems to have troubles accessing the Address Book and it hangs. I can make calls over BT just fine, its just I have to manually dial on the handset.
I have not witnessed any memory leaks with this setup. The only difference I see, is that I get little red exclamations next to my incoming sms. They go away if I reply to the respective message. And in that message I notice a 'reply requested' underneath the senders name. I dont know how to turn that off. If anyone can show me how to turn off those little red thingys and the 'reply requested', it would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using 4.5.0.18 for a couple weeks now, and I'm using Enterprise 4.1 sp5, with Rich Text enabled. I haven't had near as many issues as I've read about, I don't even have the more/more-all issue with the HTML emails like some people have. Really it's just the memory leak issue and some UMA issues.
That being said, is the radio file on .10 that much better than .18? Will I notice a significant difference? I don't mind setting aside an hour to swap out the file, especially if it solve's my UMA issues, but I don't want to waste an hour; or even two hours if I have to swap back.
