Hello -
Has reconciliation of deletes
ever worked for the user (and only just recently stopped working), or has it
never worked for the user (and this is just the first time he/she said anything)?
If it's the latter, than definitely check the ACL settings and the wireless reconciliation settings on the handheld as other have suggested.
If it's the former, and it only recently stopped working, I'd look at the handheld settings (possible wiping the handheld back to factory defaults and updating the firmware) or the State Database for this particular user on the BES server.
We've seen the issue where "older" existing users (>2 years) sometimes have issues with their state databases (we've since enabled state database pruning on the BES to help) and either deletes stop reconciling in one direction (or the other - it varies) or read/unread status doesn't reconcile all of the sudden. We can tell this to be true, since if we migrate the user to a different handheld, the problem with reconciliation still persists (even though wireless reconciliation settings are properly set on the handheld and the ACLs are correct). In that case, we delete the user from the BES (use desktop manager to backup the device just in case), delete the state database for the user, re-register the user in the BES, factory wipe the handheld (you could skip this step, I guess, but I wouldn't recommend it based on experience), perform enterprise activation for the user from the handheld. This essentially treats the problem user as a new BES user, and is often the quickest resolution and the "fix" usually "sticks" rather than reverts to a broken state again.
Make sure you have message pre-population set to the maximum settings of 14 days (up to 750 message), to limit the "shock" of starting over. see hdawg's November 25, 2007 post here -->
