Default Cannot Add new Phones? "Waiting for service..." error on device

Please Login to Remove!

BES 4.1.4.24
Exchange 2k3

Added 10 users about 3 weeks ago .... no problems (including myself)

Everyone can read /write /send emails

Today I came into work to create BES IT Policies. Went into the server and could not get into the BES application. It turns out that all the BB DataBase conections went down for some reason. My Server Admin restarted the Databases and he restarted the BES Server. No one could send / recieve emails after this. We found out that the BES Server never initalized...oops. So we enabled it and everyone could now send / recieve emails.

... So here is the problem

I had to create a new user and for some reason I just get "Waiting for services..." on the device after I type in a e-mail address and password. I get this for all new devices I try to add for some reason.

When we restarted the server is their something we missed? Is their a service that didn't start or something. Everyone that is already activated can still send / recieve email but I can't add any new devices. I also never initalized any of the IT policies I created. I created them but haven't used them yet.

Odds are it has to do with the Policy Service. You get the Waiting For Service error when the BB does not receive the Service Books and IT Policy. Typically restarting the service fixes it.

A quick search on RIM's TKC would have helped you fix that error without a restart.
