its all down to market. Iphone - Consumer, BlackBerry - Corporate. Its really that simple. The IPhone has essentially zero security taking only a few days to be hacked. Well if I were an IT admin I wouldnt let those things near anything remotely important. Iphone does have the BB beat on Web browsing (easily) and on media playing (its dressed up much better). BlackBerry, has lived on security and email. Even though the newer devices are changing that idea in customers minds, its still its primary bread and butter. No one out there does either better. The rest is down to personal preferece.

I agree. iPhone = personal use; Bllackberry = Corporate and the rest is personal pref. I just think the iPhone has a lot of bells and whistles. But when it comes down to it the BB is better all-around. My ex has a BB and an iPhone and the latter he only got just to be able to say he has an iPhone. He was one of the first in Boston to obtain the device on the day it came out and since then he's already gone through 6 of them due to one issue or another. SMH

for life!!!!

I really wish these topics would just stop being posted here. They serve no purpose other than to make BlackBerry users feel better about owning a BlackBerry.

The BlackBerry isn't better than the iPhone. The iPhone isn't better than the BlackBerry.

They are marketed to two different userbases and basically serve different purposes.
Why even bother trying to comapre the two at this time? It's pointless.

Having said that, the iPhone is slated for some pretty nice upgrades to make it more corporate-friendly in a few months. It stands to reason that once that happens, the device will be more widely adopted for corporate use, and will in fact become competition for RIM in the corporate market.

Apple/iPhone bashers will have less reason to bash the device in due time.
Competition is a good thing. Apple will continue to improve their device and RIM will continue to improve theirs as well. Everyone benefits.

If they guy next to you wants to use an iPhone, so be it. Let it go already.
The iPhone is here to stay, it's already successful, and will continue to be successful.
BlackBerry users need to get used to that because it's not going to change.

Very well said! I am tired of seeing these debates on here as well. We're just beating a dead horse at this point.

In my opinion the likely losers are the Palm and Windows based cell phones. I get the opinion that iPhones are replacing more of the Palm and Window based units than BlackBerrys.

If a iPhone came out as a CDMA unit with GPS then it might be a challenger to the BlackBerrys due to higher speed data.

I agree with everyone about these sorts of posts!

I am also sick of seeing the same crap asked on a daily basis from new people. If they'd only use the search button. I find myself not reading most of the posts anyway.

it really isn't about "bashing" the iPhone.

Seemed like a pretty weak list to me. Considering many of the points are being addressed in the next incantation of the iphone. But I do agree it comes down to preference and need of the user.

do you not know how to read?

my statement was "I find myself not reading these posts anyway" No need to get offended. I was refering to the post made by "newbies" asking "how to put MP3's on their device" and "why is my bb deleting my emails" and "Can I shut off the camera noise?"

carry on!

And since you seem to be new if you "SEARCH" and type in "iphone" I guarantee you'll find this article discussed several times and ALL your points have been made in several threads about the iphone.
It's nothing new.
There have been some good discussions and debates about both devices. I think some people who come here for legitimate assistance with their devices are tired of seeing this topic.

So, again no need to take offense to some of the comments.

I think you might have to get ready for round 2.
Come June the iphone news will get ramped up again and with 9xxx coming in the months following its going to be a busy summer for the annoying iphone vs. BB threads.
