Are you freakin' kidding me? 4.1.5 was just released! Now you want 4.1.6? What do you want fixed?

We have a client claiming they are gong to version 4.1.6 in Q4 2008. I want to make sure when I tell them it's not set for release yet that I am correct.

No one knows. If anyone tells you they know; they're lying. Anything now is a guess or estimate at best.
My guess would be sometime after WES, but before Q4

Ok, I'll ask them if they meant 4.1.5 since 4.1.6 isn't slated for release yet. I thought as much but wanted to check with everyone here first for obvious reasons. Thanks everyone for the quick responses as usual. I knew the title would raise some hackles

I'd love to see this as much as the next guy but with the way RIM is releasing updates, there's no way I believe it will happen. It will probably be Q1 or Q2 2009.

4.1.6 'should' be out by Q4, but at the same time 4.1.5 was ment to be out by the end of last year so.....

Please don't ANYONE hold their breath for 4.1.6!
I don't need to spend the rest of 2008 giving eFirst-Aid to unconscious BBF members!

Exactly - August was the date they told us also when we had a RIM visit here in Prague.
Holding breath should not be performed ...
I'm waiting for Argon

The ROADMAP if i am correct, releases 4.1.5 is to prepare the data base for BES V5. wich is running behind because of the late release of 4.1.5. I hope this helps.

I was on a call about Ascendent and the RIM guy (fed gov rep) on there said end of Q2 for 4.1.6. I didn't ask him about it, but that seemed really early since 4.1.5 had come out that day. So with all of the other information here, we can firmly say that it will come out sometime between now and when they release v5.

I have kinda different date, but as under NDA, cannot tell much. But it will be soon then i've expected.

Hi folks,
To my best knowledge, BES 4.1.6 will be released in Q4 of 2008. I do not know what fixes will be included in this version, but one thing I know of is that 4.1.6 will support HTML email. I prefer to wait and go for BES 4.1.6 since the OS 4.5 is not currently available yet. Remember, to take advandtage of new enhanced features from 4.1.5, your device OS must be running v4.5.
Your thoughts?

Considering SP5 was delayed from November to February and February to April (two delays), I don't think anyone should use SP5's recent release date as an indication to when we'll see SP6. I think SP5 showed us that the QA process, as is, was not all that great (considering the two major bugs at the end were found a) days prior to RTM, and b) days after RTP. So needless to say, if they are confident it'll be released in the July/August timeframe, plan on a September/October general availability (unless something has changed within their development and QA departments)

I'm planning on at least a 5-6 month delay. If RIM says Q4 2008, I say Q1 2009 at the earliest, and that's assuming that the expected release is early Q4. If it is late, it could easily go into Q2 2009 (exactly what we saw with 4.1.5 -- Q4 2007 release date that ended up being pushed to Q2 2008). Suffice it to say I have no confidence in RIM's release dates and refuse to get my hopes up about future releases 'till I see 'em on the download page.
