We use the Bby Manager (not the Desktop Manager but the BES manager) locally to reduce overhead. I'd like to upgrade this from the 4.1.sp2 for GroupWise locally without upgrading the BES to SP4 until we have finished testing. Is this possible?
When installing the BBy manager for the old version it allows you to choose the option to just install the manager on your local PC without installing anything on the server. I don't see this if I run the SP4 upgrader.

General practice is the db should be the same version or newer than the BlackBerry Manager you are using.

If you install the BlackBerry Manager 4.1.4 it will want to upgrade the db and I'm not sure if it will let you not upgrade the db.
