Default My messages keep disappearing

Please Login to Remove!

My BES messages are disappearing from my Curve. My phone log went away too.

I have Keep Forever set for my messages.

New messages come in.

What is going on?

Probably somebody changed something on the server? Let's wait for the BES experts to post--I've never been on BES but I love reading BES discussions.

Good luck!

It's a device memory issue. Look in Options >Status and post your "file free." Then remove the battery and see what happens. Then follow the instructions here:

I deleted as much as was conveniently comfortable to do. I know have 10391972 free. That should be enough to keep me out of trouble, right?

I guess only way to get my older messages back would be to reactivate...

You are out of memory. Time to clean up your unit.

Well, I got stuck. I've got a T-Mobile 8320 unlocked on AT&T. T-Mobile wants a T-Mobile phone number...

You do not need T-Mo to help clean out your device.

You need to look at the (file free)....that is probably the used portion.

You are correct! Hmm... I just got it last week, can't believe that memory is already full!

Maybe JiveTalk message logs are eating up my memory? hmmm

Thats probably not it to be honest. It can hold mass amounts of messages I have over 12K on my device. Do you have any pictures or music stored on the device memory?

Anyway, see the thread posted above by John Clark and you will be set.

Good Luck!

But the instructions say that I need to install the BB OS, presumably from T-Mo, to complete the cleanout steps.

It doesn't have to be from T-Mo, there are links here for downloading. Another carriers software will work, it just has to be the version that you are running.

All of my media is stored on a 1GB memory card :\

I did follow instructions from Why is my BlackBerry losing its call logs or message logs? - BlackBerryFAQ.com

and that only freed up 16MBs... how can I aim for some more?

No, it has to be an OS for the same model device. You can't load an 8300 OS on an 8320 or vice versa. You can load, for example, a TMobile 8320 OS on a Rogers 8320.
