Default BB Maps and "Searching Satellite"

Please Login to Remove!

I tried using BB Maps and to begin GPS Navigation, but the screen is stuck at "Searching for Satellites" - and I tried this outdoors. Even when I try to find my current location it's stuck at "Searching for Satellites". Anyone else experiencing this? I have 8310 on AT&T.

have you done a battery pull? And to acquire satellites the first time can take upwards of 5-10 minutes.

I had the same problem using an 8320 and a bluetooth GPS. I switched to Google maps and it tracked without problem. I just did not like the Google maps routing (it took me way out of the way.) BB Maps handled the routing correctly, but seemed to get confused with the same problem you experienced. I am now looking at other GPS solutions. I was interested in trying the Mapquest solution, but never could get the it to connect.

Default BBMaps

How did you get BBMaps on your 8310? I can't.

Are you able to get a GPS reading in any other programs? Have you tried updating your location through Options? If you can't get a reading with any program, you may have a bad unit.

This is why I don't use BB Maps. I've run into a lot of instances where BB Maps either can't locate satellites or can't update maps even though all other GPS apps on my BB were functioning just fine in the same locations.
