I was scammed on ebay selling my car video head unit to nigeria. They were emailing me from an international money/transfer company that convinced me they had my money. I ended up paying alot of money to ship my device and never recieved anything. The unit was worth well over $1000 so I got scammed!!!

Shame too because I bet most of the people are good and honest. As usual, it takes a few to spoil it for the rest...

That guy is so legit! He said I was one of 2 people who inherited 75 billion dollars and he just needed my bank account info. I am so going to send it to him since he lives on Trust Drive. Coincidence? I don't think so!

Yea basically with WU, there is no account, just money that can be removed with an ID. Whereas paypal, you have to setup an caaount, verify you own the email address, now they make you verify a landline. Also you need SSN and a bank account. I strictly use Paypal for my ebay sales, of if it is a USPS Money Order, i will not ship till its been to the PO and verified Legit, and cashed. Sometimes when a scammer contacts me, i go through the motions, and get their shipping address, phone number, email address, and then they usually send me a fake check, which i promptly send alone with all the other info to the proper authorities. I love when they send a check for $2800 to buy an item for #300, and ask that i just send the extra cash back to them taking a small fee for myself. Because they "trust" me. lol

Just as an aside, the official language of Nigeria is English. It was a British Colony until 1960.

I usually send extra for the items I get off eBay. I believe in passing my savings on to the seller...

I say mess with him and tell him you keep trying to send money western union, but the address he gave is wrong. Also, make him send pictures of him with this blackberry and see what he sends.

Check this site where a guy beats them at thier own game . . .
and turns the deal back on them.
419 BAITER - Stringing-along 419 Scammers for my Amusement - 419baiter.com
Really funny what he's made some of these thieves do. Look for "The Allen Bruce Letters" thread where he gets a couple of them to pierce thier nip_les and send pictures as proof. They do it because they think he will send them money. He actually gets some of them to send HIM money.
Priceless.
