There is a "cap", but you aren't charged overage. If you go over your 5 gb "cap" for a few months in a row, they might send you a nice little disconnect notice.
Same thing as the 50/50 rule if you are "roaming". - They don't charge you, but if you do it too much, they will shut your service down.
I haven't ever heard of this actually happening to anyone I know, but I'm sure it has since they have it in the small print.
