If you plug a headset w/ mic into the 8830 blackberry headphone jack, and then sync bluetooth (BT earbud, handsfree in the car, etc), the BB will sync with the BT, but the headset jack still takes priority and sends the call through the headset with mic.

This does not seem right to me....shouldnt the bluetooth connection take priority over the headset jack?

The way I found this out was when I was using the bb as a mp3 player in the truck. I connected the bb to the aux input on the truck stereo. the truck and bb would sync via bluetooth and the music would play fine. The truck would recognize when a call was coming in and i can answer the call with the steering wheel control.

This is where the prob presents itself...since i have the bb plugged into the aux port via the headphone jack on the bb, the bb thinks I have a headset with mic plugged in and defaults to the headset jack.

I have not been able to find a way to change this setting...and am not sure if its even an changable setting. I am also not sure if this is only a prob with the 8830 or do other bb's behave the same?

Anyone else run into this? Any suggestions?

How did you connect the headphone output to your truck's aux input? Did you buy a special adapter?

I agree that sending phone calls to a wired headset that doesn't have a mic is a problem.

Yes I used the siedio adapter without mic....I just purchased the one with the mic to try ...will post up results when I get it all hooked up.
