Hey guys lets be stait about one thing with the curve, how durable is it??? dropping your phone is something nobody plans on, but it happens. Dropping your phone and having to buy a new one everytime would be a nightmare, any stories people can share or maybe cases they could recommend??

I have an 8310, with a Seidio Hybrid Case.

I have dropped my phone several times, and one time could count as a dozen drops as the phone clunked down a flight of stairs. No problems with the phone to this point.

Now, ask me about my 8700c... the Sherman Tank...

Ha! Ha! Well put...I was just typing almost the same thing and hit an unfortunate key on the keyboard and it was deleted.. I have a pearl and it's take a few drops just fine and it's neked. I would recommend a case.

I have an 8310.. And I had a little "accident".. I slammed my phone into an elevator door and it's not even scratched. My 8300 was dropped 6 feet onto asphalt and there weren't even any scratches. It's a tough phone with a seemingly high quality shell.

Well mine is still working so that is a testament to its durability. I just have a rubber slip on case for it. Give it a good protective covering and it will last much longer.

Well i'll tell you this is what happened. In 2007 I bought the 8300 and it is my first blackberry. I had it in the holder it came in. Whilst charging the phone out of the holder it slipped off the table and fell 2 feet onto hard wood flooring. It stopped working completely. The phone was 4 days old and it kept on going to voicemail. I took it in and they replaced it with a new one. I was told to put on a skin which I purchased.

So far to this day I have dropped it 6 times and the phone is working really well. I have dropped it 4 feet onto concrete, onto hard wood florring etc. It has survived and there are no scatches. I am convinced that the skin helps no matter what anyone says to me after my experience with the first blackberry dying after one fall.

Well I don't have a curve but I will second the Seidio Rubber Hard Case, I have dropped my BB on Concrete and have not hurt it at all. The case is great.

I've dropped mine several times with a rubber skin and the seidio clear hard case. Nothing happened to it. I dropped it once when it was naked and the battery door flew off and there was a scuff on the side. Lesson learned.

I have the invisible shield on mine, and I always drop it from desk height, to the floor obviously, it just restarts (sometimes) and that's it. Works fine!

I've dropped my 8300 a few times but I also have the Seido case. People please have some type of case or casing at least, you know some of these companys (AT&T) doesn't offer insurance, which in it's self is a joke, lol...

Several small drops and no issues. Scratches have been prevented with the RIM OE skin and Best Skins Ever screen protector. Would recommend both.

I've already had mine slip out of my shirt pocket half a dozen times, though always onto carpet - no visible damage yet!

Model; 8310
Drop count ~ 6 times... including 5 foot onto tiles.
Damage: Battery jumped out and a few scratches...

Solution: I now keep it in it's jacket.. It seems happier in their, hasn't jumped out once since.

eh, get a holster. It (the BB) is probably trying to get away from you for safer surroundings!

I keep mine in the official case that came with it and only remove it when I get a message. Only the top edge of the handset is exposed so it should do the job if it does get dropped.

I've been using the leather holster that came with it. At first I didn't think I'd like it, and would need a belt clip. That's what I was used to from having a Sidekick, which was too big for a pocket. I've found, however, that I like being able to slip the Curve in its holster into a trouser or shirt pocket, and the leather holster seems pretty durable.

I'm currently not using a case (terrible... I know... it's an AMAZING device), but I've dropped in excess of 10+ times because of how "on the move" I am at work and at home. The device still functions flawlessly and the only damage it's received is a minor paint nick on the of the phone when it hit edge-first on a metal door stop.

Must.... get.... cover.....
