Default Stiff trackball click?

Please Login to Remove!

My trackball when pressed doesn't "click" or really push in and spring out/back. Feels like I'm pressing down on a rock, still selects though.

Tried replacing it but problem still exists. Any ideas?

It's the contact below the ball. If you are brave remove the assemble and gently pry up on the contact but not TOO far and make sure the device is off with the battery removed. It will only be temporary though and will eventually do the same again.

If it were the contact below the ball wouldn't a new trackbell have worked instead of yielded same problem? Unless you mean the contact on circuit board?

Yes, the contact on the circuit board is what I meant. Looks like a copper spoon (well kinda)! And at least you have a new bright white trackball! Others will be jealous!

This is likely going to be a warranty issue. I would try to get it replaced. You may fix it temporarily or it may work temporarily but will continue to be an issue.

What he said! By all means if you can return it do so , I just presumed since you had already invested in a trackball that this option had passed.

Unfortunately I can't return it. Was a private purchase. How would I even prop that little copper piece in the circuit board upwards if I were to try?

Remember at your own risk.... Perhaps a toothpick, you just need to get under the bottom edge and pry up gently until it sits higher off the circuit board, Otherwise a straight paper clip with a tiny bend at the end to use as a hook, again make sure the battery is OUT of the device.
