Default Best Multi-Client IM Software that uses SMS?

Please Login to Remove!

What is the best multi-client IM software that uses SMS instead of data for the Pearl?

Oh yeah, I would like the software to cost $0...

Why use SMS? Because I have unlimited.

Thanks!

This messenger program named "OZ" can connect to msn, yahoo and aol (more maybe, never tried it). It uses your sms (txt) messages. If you have an unlimited messaging plan then go for it. But be sure that sms is free for you. It'd be bad to get sticker shock at the end of the month! But OZ definitely uses sms. Plus it costs $0!

I have unlimited data and therefore dont use it, my messages are pay per use.

You can get OZ by following the link from
Popular Instant Messaging Clients - PinStack.com

Good luck.

the oz im client should be on your blackberry already if you got it from t-mobile. if not and you don't want to download it, do a wipe handheld to restore the icon and then download it that way.

That would be carrier dependent. Typically, the BB data plans (unlimited or not) does not include text (SMS). However, the carriers will typically have text plans. For example, Verizon does not include text in the BB data plan, but you can add a text plan to your voice plan as a feature. Or if you are signed up for a "Select" or "Premium" voice plan, then it will already have unlimited text bundled in. With Verizon, they do offer Mobile IM, which is Verizon's mobile IM client and it does use text.

Yes. SMS is the same as text messages. SMS is what the rest of the world calls it. But since the marketing folks thought that that would be too hi tech for the good ol american folks they "dummied down" the term and so now in the US they are called text messages.

Is there not an IM icon on your BB home screen? If not, look in your browser bookmarks, there should be one there.

So, you don't have a BB data plan? Call TMobile and have them add "Feature Enabler" to your plan. There is no charge and it will allow your IM application to be used.

When I try to sign in, it gets to 80% and then I get "Communication error. Please try again or check your settings." I know the password is correct, does this mean I should add the Blackberry Feature Enabler?

Thanks a bunch!

Talking problem

I have the exact same problem , it only gets to a certain point. by the way if I call tmobile, I should tell them to add that feature, which is the only way IM can work?

also what is the exact name for that feature, cause I know they will like "we don't know what you are talking about"

thanks
