Default Random Calendar Appointments Offset 8hrs

Please Login to Remove!

Hopefully some of my fellow admins read this:

has anyone seen some, but not all meeting requests/appointments, listing the proper timezone (both on the calendar, and on the handheld) but showing up on the calendar 8 hours off?

Concrete example. A guy gets an invite to a recurring meeting. OWA, Outlook, and Entourage all show the meeting is at 2PM PST. His blackberry shows this meeting at 6AM PST.

This does not happen consistently, but it does happen fairly regularly. All details look right, but the BB (i think the BB) interprets the time wrong. I have checked with the meeting originator, the server, the users calendar, and I see no anomolies other than the random meeting shifting 8 hours.

The only consistency is the 8 hour shift. If/when a meeting shifts, it will do so 8 hours early.

Exchange2003 current, BES 4.0.6.7, W2K3 current

advice?

Since you're on the west coast, I'm assuming the 8 hours is due to UTC being misinterpreted as PST, or vice-versa.
Can you find any common theme between the ones that display incorrectly? Coming from a particular user, created on a particular client, etc?
Also, if you look at a correct appointment and an incorrect one using a low-level tool like MFCMAPI, do you notice anything inconsistent between them?

I've been dealing with something similar all day today. Just deploying some BB's myself.

In my case the default timezone on the blackberry was set to "Casablanca". So certain calendar's were off by 5 hours.

I also notice that PST is 8 hours behind GMT time.

Anyway, if your experiencing the same thing as me, on the BB go to options>Date/Time and the first option is Timezone, and check that the time source is "Network".

cheers
