I am new to the Blackberry having had a Treo for 3 years prior.

On my treo while on a phone call I could still send Text messages. While I can receive them on the Pearl while on a call I can not send them. If there is a way to do this that anyone knows of I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I can also send and receive text while on a phone call with my 8830.

While on the call, hit ALT + ESC to switch applications to Messages. Bring up the menu and choose Compose SMS.

Thank you for the tips. I tried it while on a call and it worked by going to the messages folder and sending one. When I tried going directly to my SMS folder it wouldn't allow me to send it. I find that odd, but at least now I can send texts while on calls. Thanks.
