I am confused. Well, not really.
4.2 SP2 and 4.3 are Desktop Manager. You also need to download and install the Handheld OS on your PC. I suggest the following:

- Installed Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2
- Download and install the Handheld OS for your BB onto your PC
- Locate and Delete VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive
- Connect your BB and restart Desktop Manager

I think that will work.

You look vaguely familiar...

When you downloaded the OS to your PC, did you also install it? And delete the vendor.xml from your PC?

So, you actually upgraded your BB's OS? Any Desktop Manager will work. 4.2 SP2 is what I recommend but DM 4.3 will work too. You don't "match" the OS's and the DM.

Follow NJBlackberry's instructions above and all will work. Install both again and follow his instructions in the exact order.

I must be missing something very obvious. I downloaded the 4.3 Desk Manager software, all 320 megabytes of it, installed it and restarted my PC. Nothing prompted me to update my handheld's OS.

I renamed the vendor.xml file, vendor.xml.bak. Still no option to upgrade to OS 4.3.

I thought that the DM software also included the handheld OS software as well. Do I need to download another file to get OS 4.3? And if so, where can I find it?
