Default Unlocking Vendor Theme question (BB 8130)

Please Login to Remove!

I am switching service providers today after work and will be getting the BlackBerry 8130. With my GSM BlackBerry I unlocked the TIM Zen theme and Vodafone Today themes. Since the Telus 8130 OS has just been released if I edit the .alx file will I be able to unlock those themes to use on the 8130 or is there another process to follow on a CDMA BlackBerry? or are these themes only for GSM based devices? Sorry it's that's a noobish question to ask I'm just not sure.

Just like Dawg said, the same way will work.

I found after unlocking all the themes, however, that it took up a lot more memory than I wanted to be used up. It kept deleting my emails because of the low memory, which wasn't good for me.

I went through and removed the help, sample video, extra languages, and all of the themes I don't use (all of them but the blue T-MO Zen and Vodafone White) and it increased my memory significantly (from about 2MB to 25MB). Just a thought, but it was worth it IMO.

You'll find that some themes are only in the GSM software.

Thanks for the info! I was told by the Telus rep that vendor themes don't work with any CDMA BlackBerries. Before seeing if anyone responded here I searched a couple other forums and found a post saying that one needs to use a JavaLoader to load vendor themes on a CDMA device and on another forum I checked it said that the 8130 is built not to work with any custom or vendor themes. Now that my device is charged I'll modify the vendor themes and try it out, Thanks everyone!

I'm going to have to wait for someone else to answer that, I followed the directions and have not had a problem.

I just unlocked all the themes, it only took 5 minutes and I did it with windows notepad. Piece of cake (I thought it would be harder) ... I so love the vodophone theme ... Wow it rocks!

Did you follow the instructions just as they are in the post. And if you are using a new o.s. did you delete the vendor.xml file.

Hey, I enjoy a good smart a-- question as well as the next guy. It is installed, but your question made me think about searching harder. Somehow, I was logged in on a local account and the files were hidden.
