I have noticed occasional errors, the program however regains nav capability with a soft reset.

Battery pull did not cure my errors. Only time did (tried again after 15 minutes). Must have been a verizon outage of some sort.

Has anyone tried to load this in a way that can get around 3rd party apps due to BES blocking third party apps

Hahaha, you know, that's another good reason why Verizion should let 3rd party apps use the GPS, especially the "preloaded" Blackberry Maps. Some corporations don't allow for 3rd party apps to be loaded, which limits the user's ability to use the GPS on the phone since BBMaps can't talk to the chipset because of the lockout.

However, to answer your question, since this is a pay-for app, if you're not paying for your Blackberry plan I wouldn't even worry because chances are your company doesn't want to pay $10 a month for this. If you do own the BB and pay your own phone bill then I suggest you speak with your BES administrators at work. Tell them what you want and they should be able to fix you right up. If they deny you this, then they should be the ones paying for your shackled BB and plan each month, not you. That's my viewpoint on this though.

Just posting an update. Since I upgraded to the telus .178 os, VZN has been working fine. I do have the memory leak problem.

Has anyone confirmed this to be related to 1)VZN, 2).178, 3)was there already? Is it happening on the 8130?

I deleted my VZ Nav app for my 8830 and want to put it back on. Anyone know where I can get it again. I tried downloading the JAD file to my desktop but I don't know how to upload it to my phone.

Point your phone's browser at the JAD file, not your PC's.

At the link, the page still says:
BlackBerry Device Software v4.2 (updated 8-02-2007)

Has anyone found it? Also, does anyone suspect this will be any different from the Telus version? I wonder how Verizon can be "waiting on a bug fix from RIMM" while the Telus version is out.

I saw the same thing. And when I went to download it, it was the .148 version

So much for VZW being up to date. I was hoping for 4.3, oh well.

Question - if I install the TELUS 4.2.2.176 Device OS on my Verizon 8830, will I still be able to use the VZW theme? If so, what steps do I take? Thx.
