Question Getting incoming email 2 times???

Please Login to Remove!

I have both gmail and blackberry email setup. I just set them both up so all options are default.

When i send an email to my blackberry.net address, it comes to the phone twice, once from the vzw.blackberry.net address and once through my gmail account.

I checked the carrier site, and there is no forwarding setup for the blackberry email account.

Why am I getting the email twice and how can I stop this?

TIA

Yes I am. Is that causing the problem?

You need to create a filter in BIS for your Gmail account so that it won't send you messages from yourself.

for gmail you will have to set up a filter on your BIS website. Select the "From" field then add your email address and choose do not forward. Prob same for your other account.

You are getting the message you sent from the Gmail account. Then you are getting the actual message you sent to the blackberry. It syncs both sent and received messages from Gmail. Kind of a pain but that's how it works.

How do I log into the Verizon BIS to create the filter?
I tried going to:
https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw
but it says you must log in via phone, not PC
I tried to do it under the BB's email setup but it only gives me options for email address, password, name, signature block is not editable, and about sync the account. Nothing to do with filters. What am I missing?

Hey thanks for the reply. I'm aware of the filter that this link guides, but that is the problem. I cannot get logged into Verizon's BIS. I try to on the PC and it says you must do this from the phone - doesn't even log in. When I go to the email settings on the phone's browser there is no create filter option.

Now I can see your issue. Do you Opera on your phone? You may want to try that to see if the options appear. I think you can still get to BIS for TMO via PC but you have to login to your TMO account first. I dont think they allow you to tag the BIS page directly anymore. My boss has this issue.

No Opera on my 8130 yet. Just picked it up and was trying to setup everything before installed apps. So no other place to look for Verizon's filters on BIS? Just seems like Vzw is removing more features (no GPS, no filters lol).

edit: I just ran the setup wizard again and it let me "create username" again, even though the blackberry username/email address was sending/receiving messages. Now I can log into the BIS site. Strange - but thanks for trying to help
