This will play the radio stations and even the older version of dollars5 has support for playing pls files. The asx format is not compactible with dollars5 mediaPlayer.
Now will this application automaticly run when I am on sky.fm web site and click on a genre of music I want to listen too? Or do I have to cut and paste the link into the mediaplayer from dollars5?

I am looking for something that will play this automaticly which I should have probably stated before hand

No, it won't automatically run like that. You have to copy and paste the link to the mediaplayer. There is no default app for streaming radio on the BB.

Thank you for the reply which link would I copy though, ? the all have playlist at the end of them and there is the MP3, AAC, or Realplayer?

I have tried links like the following: http://www.sky.fm/aacplus/smoothjazz.pls keep getting connection closed whether or not I choose MP3, or AAC .

Just not working

I use sky.fm primarlily

TIA
Michael

Btw: I was able to get the station streamed when I used this as the stream url - http://alt.liveatc.net/klax - it works great - I have the buffers size set at 60000.
First....thank you for the quick response. Second...I'm thrilled you were able to get it streaming because it must be something simple I'm not doing then.

Here is what is happening with the same link you had success with. It connects, buffers up to about 98% then back to 0%. It keeps recycling like this with no sound. The bandwidth remains empty but occasionally thru each recycling I'll get a 15 or 18 and a quick screech thru the speaker. I have tried all buffer settings an reset it back to 60000 as you mentioned. NPR still plays w/o issues over the speaker.

Thanks again...

Because streaming just doesn't work that well on the BB.

*(I can't even imagine the data bill on Rogers from streaming radio to your BB.)

You can use any of these 96k or 24k or aacplus 24k everything will work well on dollars5 mediaplayer.
It depends on the bandwidth of the station and the carrier network.

Although seamless play back is selected under settings there is still a pause between songs, obviously when the same files are mounted via "mass storage mode" on my computer and played back these is no pause

Thoughts?

8830 - using the QA1 build and the latest BB OS from Bell Mobility, I'm playing 160 VBR MP3s from my 4gb microSD card.

Following on my radio mode volume question. I saw in page 3 of this thread that side button volume control is enabled in latest version. I used the zip link on the first page, appears to be the same link as page 3. Did this give me the lastest version? If so then side buttons have not affect.

Other than that though it's great. love the steel gray look. Functionality is smooth.

http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...supported.html

This thread contains the latest version of mediaPlayer link and the link on the first page of this thread is a old one.

If you tried this latest version it will make use of the side volume keys.

Sure the gauge implementation in the radio shows the volume level you can use that gauge .. or side volume keys or p and q for decreasing and increasing volume .

Loving it so far. Radio is awesome. However it tried adding local PBS stream. WRVO.org Went to there site copied link and pasted into the add station. Didn't work. Suggestions on how to add station, what is supported, issues with adding station, etc. ? Maybe some stations you know to work?

thanks
