I can send emails and they arrive at my hotmail account, but mails I'm receiving show up in my PC's outlook but not on my BB7100g... outage related, or something else?

all 6 of em. haha.
and seriously, i think that 3 major service outages/interruptions in 2.5 years is not a bad track record. i believe the first two outages were caused from Denial of Service attacks on them, and i'm sure this one was as well. i would imagine they have fixed their own network, but most likely it is their provider or one of their provider's peer networks that is getting hit with the DoS attacks. not much they can do, imo (some network weenies will argue this, though).

Whenever there is an outage, carrier or RIM related. I'd sure like to know about it from the source - somehow.
Cingular is still operating ATTW's RIM forum and not a peep out of them. I read BBForums, but it takes time to confirm.

When link2exchange tech support responded to my report of problems, the RIM outage was news to them. I pointed the tech to this forum. He looked, and then checked his logs. He saw the massive backups you'd expect.
Why link2exchange didn't hear about this, or figure it out on their own, is a mystery to me. The tech said that I was the only one (or the first one) to complain.

I'd be more then willing to setup a mail list over at personalwireless.org where things like this could be reported but the only problem that I see is that if people are relying on their BB's to get their e-mail, they would never know.
Thoughts?

Network outage alerts would be handy. I'm sure potential subscribers can use a non-Blackberry email address. Guess if they're concise enough you could use your carrier's email address for SMS (or use Teleflip) to your phone/BB as well.

Dear Valued Customer,
On June 17 at approximately 08:10, RIM support staff began to observe delays across several components of the BlackBerry Network Infrastructure. Customers would have been unable to send or receive messages until the issue was resolved at 10:00. Some customers would have continued to experience delays until the backlog of messages was cleared at 13:00. Customers would have been able to resend unsent messages after the incident cleared. Some customers on a particular Carriers' BlackBerry Network Infrastructure may have experienced delays until their backlog of messages cleared at 16:50.
Initial investigation has revealed that the issue occurred as a result of a software issue on the BlackBerry Network Infrastructure. The nature of the problem did not manifest itself until the start of the business day on June 17.
The root cause of this issue is still under investigation.
Please note that the ability to place telephone calls from voice capable handhelds was not affected during this event.
Thank you for your continued support and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely,
BlackBerry Customer Support

Everything is back up on T-Mobile in South Florida and has been for a while. You may be experiencing some device-specific or account-specific issues. You may want to contact your carrier.
I'm assuming that everything is back up nationwide and has been for some time now.
