Yeah, I got the same meaning from what he said...This upcoming release would still be Black & Whitelist but future versions would be the iCall Manager. I had a few small problems when I bought the program sometime back and he responded with in a couple hours. Nice person!...

it seems to me that the developer wants to change name right now, for sept.3

this next version for sept.3 will have many new features, and he plans on adding more

i think he wants name change now so that when 2nd round updates come, it already has new name

anyone else have any ideas?
most of these ideas were taken from a program called CallFilter for Treo

1. password protect to enter program. (i dont want nosy people going into my program to see who i have on my blacklist)

- I don't see this as a problem/issue with this software, but rather that you have nosey people accessing your phone. This could be left out or simply use another program or even lock your phone.

2. the people listed on blacklist look like they are on the whitelist instead because of your user interface, the 2 horizontal lines makes it look confusing. fix up interface a bit

- Yes, I agree the interface could be cleaned up.

i think you should have the blacklist numbers appear in RED, and the white list in GREEN, because red usually means stop and green means go

3. you should be able to type telephone numbers to block

- Seems unneeded to me - if they call once then just add them from the call log and problem solved. I can see paranoid people adding number after number or people who might not even call them lol.

4. you should be able to choose from address book, but be able to choose if you want to block, mobile, or both, NOT BLOCK ALL NUMBERS, as the only option as is now

- VERY good idea.

5. you should be able to send the "blacklisted" people an automatic SMS, when they call, or send to voice mail. your SMS could be "i'm busy now, call ya later"

- Seems to defeat the purpose to me. You don't want these people bothering you right? So why send them an SMS after they already had a chace to leave a voicemail - seems to me you would just be getting bothered with numerous text messages rather than phone calls then.

6. when a call comes in that's from your blacklist , you should have option of signaling a special tone, mp3 file, ringer of your choice, and also have option of the LED light flash 2x really fast., or change color, so this way you know you've missed a call, which was blocked.etc

- Remember, one of the purposes of the app is that the phone DOESNT ring so you arent disturbed. Now, maybe some people would like the different color flash, but again I see this as unnecessary. It sounds like you want to block someone yet you are eagerly sitting there waiting to see if they call or not lol.

7. ability to filter SMS messages not only by phone number but also by the email address which sent SMS

- VERY good idea. I also recommended text message filtering when I first bought this.

8. ability to automatically autolock Blackberry based on an incoming SMS

- Not sure what you mean?

9. ability to set date/time for all rules, monday -friday, 9-5 etc.

- Not bad, but seems a little overboard.
While I agree with some of the above from a programmer / user standpoint I think this should be kept clean and simple while providing good options. Last thing we want is an app huge in size that slows down the phone due to a ton of options not all needed.

I have nothing but good things to say about the developer. I have been using Black & Whitelist for a few weeks now and he gets back to me very fast on any email I sent to him with warmest regards. I can't wait for the new version and name!

Default using berryblocker

berryblocker is working great for me.
I set it to block unknown and can add deny number(black)
and allow numbers(white) plus I can set different profiles and switch between them as I like, or just turn it off.

my mistake, it was blocking everything duh! I guess I had a peaceful week.
anyway i just bought black&white so I hope it does better. after seeing all the good posts I decided to try it.

The developer's new domain -- i-softwarelabs.com -- does not even appear to be active yet.
