Anyone have any experiences?? How are they? Anything that I should be worried about?

Try typing "cingular refurbished" into the search bar. There are lots of threads already about them. Good luck.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I work for ATT/Cingular and personally I'm embarrassed by the warranty/refurbished phones!

Had a lady come with a refurb 8800...charging port was loose...2nd unit had water damage.....third unti kept resetting itself....4th just didn't work...finally I got my boss to let me do an instore replacement for her. Gave her a brand new 8800....should never have been like that if you ask me.

My sister-in-law got a refurbished 8100 and it has worked without issue. So I guess it can go either way.

I buy alot of refurbs here at my company and have never had an issue with them yet. So far if anyone is upgrading an old Blackberry (which we have several, 7290). I tell them to get or I order a refurbed for them and don't say anything about it. They have been reliable so far. Hopefully, I don't have the issues mentioned here.

I know two people that have purchased refurbished Pearls. Both are working flawlessly for the past couple of months.

For the huge discount, I'd get a refurbished phone.

In the past month I have purchased a refurb Pearl and 8800. I have had no troble with them at all. Both arrived in original looking packages and covered with protective tape. All accessories are still in the sealed bags. I have heard the are sold as refurbs because they are "cingular" branded.

It's my understanding (practice could vary from carrier to carrier, of course), that refurbs have original "innards" but have brand new housings/casings plus new battery; as opposed to just cleaned up externally. After the housings have been replaced, they then go in sealed packages and new boxes with a Refurbished sticker on it.

I'd imagine that trackball/wheel and keyboard count as "innard" even though it might be debatable if it is or isn't.

I think they replace trackballs in refurbished units because all the ones I've received (from TMo) have had very clean, new looking trackballs. My wife is using a Refurb'd White Pearl from TMo. Has worked flawlessly and looked just like a brand new device.

I bought a cingular branded pearl refurb at the end of June. It worked great until Friday(August17). Called Att Monday morning and had a replacement Tuesday about 1:00. They do charge you $7.00 for next day air though.Replacement is working great so far. It is an ATT branded phone.

Refurb offers 30 days warranty - New device offers 1 year warranty --- Something else to keep in mind

My refurb has a year warranty just like a new one. The rep did tell me that my warranty stays at the date of my original phone purchase.

If your new phone is replaced under warranty with refurb then your warranty is the remaining new phone warranty or 90 days whichever is longer-with TMo.

If you purchase a refurb from Cingular then that may be where the 30 days warranty comes from.

I hate to stray off topic, but before getting a refurb, look at amazon.... brand new 8800 for $99 and Curve for $75. Both through ATT.

Those have to be brand new activations. If you are upgrading, you can't get that deal.
