i know it should be simple enough, but it seems i am not doing something correctly. when i hook up my curve to my powerbook via usb, i should see it appear as a drive, correct? it does not pop up. is there something i need to do on the blackberry to get it to register on the powerbook? i thought it would be a simple "plug and play." help. thanks!

On my MBP I just plug it in and the curve asks me whether I want to enter mass storage mode. The micro SD card will then show up as a drive.
I don't think you can do that without a card, though. As bluetooth file transfers don't work, you'd be out of luck without an SD card, I think.

So, the Curve has no storage memory of its own, besides the SIM, without the microSD inserted? According to the instructions booklet, though, inserting the microSD is only for "extending" the storage capacity of the BB.

Shouldn't it STILL show up on my desktop as a device or a drive, withOUT inserting a microSD? is this a MAC-only issue?

It certainly does have additional memory - but there doesn't seem to be a way to access that from a mac. I'm not sure if this works on windows.

I plug mine to my mac and it pops up ready to go. I have the blackberry set to auto connect w/o asking.

You know, I've had problems with the mass media storage thing. Sometimes if I plug my BB in, the drive won't come up. Only if I restart. And deleting files doesn't seem to really work. It just hides them...
