Anyone know what is causing the "error reading setup initialization file" message?? I have downloaded the file numerous times from vzw and still no luck running the program.

I checked found I used the April 07 version of Desktop Manager with a XP Pro based computer to update my 8830 last night.

I may have found a bug as I have two CLOSE commands in the options menu of BrickBreaker now. The bottom one will return the system to the home menu screen but does not shut down the program. The top one also shuts down the program. Strange, I may try a battery pull to see if that has any affect.

I also tried downloading the update and I get the "ERROR READING SETUP INITIALIZATION FILE"! I have the current desktop program (installed and reinstalled 3 times) and Windows XP! I was wondering what version of Installshield you guys,who installed it correctly, are running? Thanks for the help!

I used Desktop Manager version 4.2.2.12 dated March 19, 2007.

i am using xp home and this update will not work for me either. i keep getting that error i have never had this problem before and i can't find anyway to fix this
i downloaded it many times but it just will not work.it says there is a xml file missing on the 1st line if i try to load it with desktop manager.

I had no trouble installing the new software, however, it did suspend my blackberry mail forwarding. When I tried to log in on the regular computer it also told me my account was suspended. I had to get in touch with Verizon and they had it fixed in no time. They didn't give me an answer as to why it did that though.

I was thinking it was an INSTASHIELD issue with Windows XP! Don't really know, just throwing that out there!

That is not the right size. Delete it and redownload it. The download is corrupt.

That right there is crap. The problem with the ringers is not entirely one of "just volume". If you listen to a ringer in Media Player and then in the Profile settings preview it sounds nothing alike.

is there a way for mac users to do these device software updatea? i already sync everything i need from my mac, but being that this is a setup via an exe file that's not really going to work. installing windows under boot camp / parallels is out of the question. i have a pc around i can use for this update, but in another month or so i won't.

I had similiar issues to you but it worked after I restarted my pc and my handheld. I never needed to reinstall the DM again.

I seem to have better e-mail usability then I had before.

When I open a message, I have a forward as function, which enables me to immediately convert a E-mail to a PIN or SMS or any other function. I don t think we had that capability before.
