Default Odd symbol

Please Login to Remove!

For some reason my bb shows the normal icon for voice mail (looks like a white cassette tape) and some weird black figure 8 locking symbol beside it. Thing is, i don't have any voice mail messages or txt messages, nor to i subscribe to BIS. I cant find any literature to explain what is happening. Any thoughts?

Try pulling the battery and see if it clears.

I would check my Tasks, Calendar and any IM programs I have installed. Just a cuppa shots in the dark.

I had a symbol like that on an old nokia and it was a fax that someone sent to me. I had to forward the message to a fax number. Shortly after it was gone.

(it was a wrong number obviously.)

For what its worth.

Sounds like a symbol for when you either skip a VM or save one...

Maybe you have an SMS voice note. I know you can send them using the voice note program in the Pearl. Don't know how they show up at the receivers end...

Change the tape on your answering machine.

I'm guessing it's probably carrier-specific. I took a quick look through some information I have, and nothing that looks ANYTHING like what you have is noted.

If it's related to Voice mail, I would recommend leaving yourself a voice mail, and then listening to it, deleting and following through until the system disconnects you. This may toggle the icon.

Other than that.... wtf

Default odd symbol gone

I had the same symbol. Once I listened to my voice mail message, it is now gone. I am with Rogers also.

Voicemail gets screwy some times. Try calling yourself from another phone, leaving a message, then go to your BB and call to listen to it and delete.
