And I've got a good amount of issues with this new device. My other phone worked fine but the ear piece in the phone died so I needed to replace it. I did a full backup of my original Pearl and also did a 'Switch Devices' in the Blackberry Desktop software, hoping to copy over everything in my phone, but here's what happened.

My original Pearl had the unlocked Themes so I could use the tmobile version where you have the icons at the bottom only, and this is not on here now. I also keep getting an 'Uncaught Exception Application Registry. waitfor (0xac3ae76427d17f19) timeout' error whenever the phone resets. I had a couple games like Texas Hold Em that now won't play and none of my .avi's, .mp3's, jpgs (any media stuff) will play or show on the screen. They keep giving a 'invalid file' error regardless if they're stored on the memory card, or internally...

I did a wipe of the device to completely reset it but this did nothing. I'm not sure what to do to fix it now at this point, any suggestions? I don't care if I can't get the unlocked themes, but I would like to be able to watch and listen to the media stuff and fix the bootup error.

Unlocked themes will not carry over using the switch device wizard. Not all 3rd party apps will carry over either. I would delete all the 3rd party apps and reinstall them. "Wipe Handheld" from the security options will not get rid of the 3rd party apps (only the user data in them.)

I think if you remove all the 3rd party apps and reinstall them your other errors may go away.

Thanks John. Yeah that was actually something I forgot to mention, I already went in and removed both games I had as well as some of the languages that I never needed. I did this before and never had a problem... I've done some research and it looks like its a problem with possibly having some missing files via the OS software and the Desktop software.

I'm downloading the most current OS version from AT&T and the 4.2 ver of the Desktop software. I figured at this point, I'll just restore it to the most recent and purchase those games again later if I need them.

Does this sound like the best option in your opinion?

hey brian, i had the same problem with that uncaught error thing.
all you need to do is simply update/ upgrade your OS and you'll be fine.
and then i have the blackberry.axl file to unlock the themes your looking for if you need that. Just PM me and let me know.
