Just adds character, and makes it YOURS.... as long as it still works.

It still works. I just don't baby it anymore. Good thing I have insurance on it. I'll wait until it gets ran over by a car (my luck, knock on wood) or something before I decide to pay the $50 deductible on it and say I "lost it in the lake fishing."

*sigh*

It amazes me that these things can drop on a concrete floor and survive with just minor scratches. Plastic is amazing stuff.

Glad to hear that is all that happened!

Please make sure it is NOT in your pocket or on your person at that time?

I drop mine all the time. BlackBerries are pretty tough. They are workhorses and the scratches just prove it!

BBs are bombproof for the most part. (You can find threads here on horror stories of dropping, falling, etc.). Wonder how, in general, the pearls are in this regard. They look more "delicate" than other BBs.

I've lost count how many times I've dropped my phone, yet it keeps working. They're like a Timex watch.... takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

I've dropped all of mine -- from the 6230 to the 8800 -- a number of times without any problems. Just minor scratches. If scratches bother you then get an Invisible Shield full body kit or the Best Skins Ever equivalent. I've dropped my 8800 several times on concrete with an IS full body shield on it and it doesn't have any scratches. The IS doesn't offer any impact protection, BTW.

You can't tell anything by the appearance of the device. People have complained about how delicate every BB since the 7290 "seems"...

Mine has been bounced on concrete at least 3 times. It has its chips etc. As long as the screen isn't broken, I'm happy. They do hold up well.

yeah i like battle scars, my 8800 has one corner scratch where it hit the pavement. i dont mind.

nothing like the "tank" 7290 i have collecting dust. That thing was unbreakable for me.

I managed to bust off the tab that holds the battery door on my 7520 after many many drops, but the most spectacular accident any of my BB's have suffered is when my 8700 jumped holster as I was going up the stairs at work. It fell 2 stories down the stairwell and I heard it hit walls/railings at least 4 times before it landed on the concrete in the basement. I picked up the pieces, popped the battery back in and viola! It came back up with nothing more than a few dents to show for it. BB's rock.
