Can I use the 8700 desk top manager to restore info into the Curve? Or do I have to laod the dvd into my computer?

are you talking about using the desktop manager to switch information from your 8700c to the Curve, like your address book, pictures, ringtones, etc?

if this is what you mean, yes, all you do is load up the "Switch Device" and follow the directions (make sure you use the back up function)...

it is exactly what i did when i switched everything from my 8700c to my Curve

May be a really lame question but is there any difference when changing providers?

Verizon's desktop manager always warns me that it is for Verizon only. Do I need to install ATT's and then go find my old info?

just download the lastest one from the blackberry download section, and use that one... i don't see why that would matter... especially if you are just using the "Switch Device" function...

Desktop Manager does not prefer one carrier over the other, get the latest version 4.2 SP 2, and use Switch Device as psyct said.

Good luck!

I think the simplicity of changing devices is one of the reasons I will always have a blackberry. Especially with GSM, you just pop your sim card in the new device, fire up the desktop manager and before you know it everything is on your new blackberry.

Thanks. Sounds like Verizon just trying to scare us folks who don't know better.
