Question 4gb Micro SD

Please Login to Remove!

Would it be a good idea to use a 4gb Micro SD if your having problems with call logs/sms text getting deleted on your phone and would like to cure the problem?

no that has nothing to do with it. sd card is for media only.

make sure you delete unwanted languages and themes that should fix your problem. upgrading to the latest os would be good too.

Well doesnt the media take part of the space available up on the curve?
So by eliminating the media issue wouldnt it fix the problem?

No, it would not. Read these:
Why is my BlackBerry losing its call logs or message logs? - BlackBerryFAQ
Additional information on memory leaks on the 8100 - BlackBerryFAQ

Good luck.

Well I have an 8300 curve, not a pearl, and on the 1st faq that you stated; Why is my BlackBerry losing its call logs or message logs? - BlackBerryFAQ it said that images and ringtones WOULD take up some of the space on the pearl, but i have 3,748,436 bytes left on my phone out of 55,443,456 so should i be having the problem I have witht the deleting of call logs and the sms text getting deleted??

And also what if I wanted to keep some of my apps I delete say (e.g. brickbreaker) and i delete it off the phone and not use the DM??
And this is when the problem i have comes into play, when i acces the DM>Application Loader, it would usually give you a list of all your apps right??
Well i get a message where the list would be saying "The BlackBerry Desktop Software does not have BlackBerry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator"

Someone please help me

I know that for SMS, you have the option of keeping the number of previous items, goes all the way up to 50. As far as the call logging, I'm nto sure if there's a way of doing that for call logs at the moment.

My wife's Pearl was doing that. Upgrading the firmware didn't help at all. However, removing the battery to reset the phone (if I remember correctly) did the trick - it hasn't been a problem for months.

Oh, and on the MicroSD card size, I thought I had read in the manual that the 8300 was limited to 2GB.

Okay and I know the media (ringtones, mp3, image, video) like he said has to take up room on the phone and causing the deletion of sms/ call logs.
And as I read also o the faq he gave me, ive pulled my battery everyday and the issue still happens.

Remove all unused languages, put all your media on the SD card (I put the few ringtones I'm using on the device memory.) You can also remove the preinstalled video, the help application, etc. Also, under media >Pictures >Options and set "Reserved Pictures Memory to 0. If you are down to 3MB's you will have problems with losing your call logs/emails/sms's.

To remove this stuff you'll need to install the OS to your PC so that it will recognize the OS on the phone. Then you can uncheck what you don't want. Also, the Curve will support 4Gb cards, as will the Pearl running the latest OS.

Go to this site and click on the AT&T link and download (and install to the PC) the OS for your 8300.
