Unhappy 8100 issues again... :( help?

Please Login to Remove!

ok I am a TMo customer and this is my first blackberry to have this many issues. I have had three before this with very good results. I have the 8100 and after about 3 months the first one stopped being able to boot up. now the replacement is giving me grief with the trackball. it will stop letting me move the focus down so if I am the main screen I am pretty much stuck in myfaves until I wait long enough or spin the trackball enough to get it to recofnize that I want it to go down. I am almostready to throw in the towel and try a windows mobile device but I just cant do it... yet.
any of you guys have or had this issue? would upgrading to the 8800 help or downgrading to the 8700G? I really like the smaller form factor. I looked at the wing and the moto q looking device that tmo has and although they have wifi that is about the only plus I can find.
help me out here guys. I really like blackberry's but my bad luck so far is making me second guess staying with them.

Maybe try using one of the FAQ's to disassemble your trackball unit and make sure it's nice and clean?

I haven't had any problems with my 8100 and it is my first blackberry ever. I fell in love with it immediately and I think the only different brand I would switch to is the iPhone :D... Other than that I will never stray from the blackberry. I hope you can figure out your problem..and maybe if you get another one it will work out? (3rd times a charm right?)

But yeah, only solution about the trackball I can come up with is making sure it's nice and clean and there is nothing wrong inside there. I know SanFran has a great how-to for the disassembly in the FAQs section

Good Luck!!!
