Default Looking for a screen shot tool that works on the Curve and the 8830

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I'm looking for a screen shot tool that works on the Curve and the 8830.
Javaloader, BBscreen v1.1.exe, and Idokorro BlackBerry Viewer do not work.

Is there anything that does?

Known issue with the release OS on the Curve. Nothing anyone can do until an undated OS is released.

RIM told me it was due to the enhanced security built into the newer code on the 8830 and the Curve.

Do you thing the fix will be new device code or a newer javaloader app?

Are the Blackberry simulators an option for you? You can get full device shots as well as LCD only.

It was said to be an issue with the OS code.

I think this is a fantastic solution! Only problem is, can I "load" third party software on it?

UPDATE: the only thing I don't like about this simulator is that the web browser doesn't actually browse. You would think that would be pretty easy! Oh well!

Download the MDS simulator and you can browse the web with the simulators too.

Probably....

I think it was just an issue with one or two OS version. I *believe* the issue was fixed in the AT&T version.

No... I have the ATT version and am struggling mightily with this... and figured myself for rather tech proficient b4 this headache...

Any help with the OS I should use or how to get JL Cmdr - BBScreen or Javaloader to work is appreciated -

There is a known workaround in order to fix it. Unfortunately your BlackBerry device needs to be connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, and your BES administrator needs to change some settings on the BES. Here is an article describing the fix:

BlackBerry Search Results

The new policy that needs to be enabled is the Allow Screenshot policy item.

Ok, so I'm not sure what happened, meaning if it was something our IT manager did on the BES or if it was that I upgraded my OS, but the JL_CMDR 1.8.3 now works with my 8830! WOO HOO!

My OS version is 4.2.2.123 (package version 4.2.2.240 from Bell Mobility).
