Angry Thanks, but no thanks

Hello all,

This will probably be my final vent, and since there really isn't many or maybe ANYBODY from RIM in here, this will be here for a long time.

We are currently a customer of a carrier who only supports RIM and Blackberry's. Our situation is such that we can move to another carrier to get SmartPhone support (Nokia's GroupWise Mobile Server), or stay with our current carrier.

Well, of course our carrier didn't want us to give up our 20 ish phones so they pushed us to Blackberry with the BES server. WHAT A FREAKING NIGHTMARE!

I installed the BES server just as the documentation and the Webcast say to do and it didn't work. I was on 4.1.3 and HP2.

I called customer support and they said that SOAP was no supported and I had to change my Novell client back to 6.5.7 with this and that patch. WHAT? Then he sent me some obscure documentation and had the nerve to say, "It's all right there"

Even after we got our phones to FINALLY register after 5+ hours on the phone with RIM and our Cell company, we STILL have issues.

I opened two more cases. 1 having to deal with how to setup Groupwise Messenger and 2. Address books not syncing properly.

Well, the Groupwise Messenger setup must be buried so deep that it is impossible to find. Just look at the silly forums for those people looking to do it! Finally, I found someone who knew what I was talking about. One tech support person actually said that they do not support GroupWise. I hung up on him.

Address books! After sending them EVERY log I had, and them doing this, doing that, blaming my setup, blaming my carrier, they came back and said, "Oh yeah, this is our bug. Well get it fixed in the next release, have a nice day, goodbye." and closed the incident. (for anyone who wants to follow it RQST00003812508)

WHAT!!!! From my perspective, I just got the "Our product doesn't work, Deal with it! We'll fix it when we get to it. So right now, leave us alone." And this is our honeymoon phase of trying to get our business. You have GOT to be kidding.

So, we have two weeks left in our trial, and it looks like a move to Nokia and the smart phones.

Sincerely,

Tom

Default Yeah Baby

I feel much better, clicking on the link and pulling the size 11 out, after having my boss kick me around for suggesting the RIM and Blackberry, and then getting the pooped knocked out of me by this forums moderators suggesting that they are all volunteers and don't know, yada, yada, yada.

And you are a bitter, clueless administrator.
Enjoy your time with another vendor.
We didn't start this - you did with your bitter attacks.
Please - and I am asking nicely - go find another forum to troll.
