Default Opera Mini - Which Version on 8300?

Please Login to Remove!

I have an unlocked 8300 on Cingular Blue. The Browser is the only application that does not seem to work. People have mentioned using Opera Mini, but when I access the site (from the 8300) it shows unknown device. If you download the program, it freezes all the time. Can I download the 8800version to PC and then install using Desktop Manager? Will the 8800 version work?
Any suggestions.
Thanks,
Bryan

My guess would be that it's the same version, but it's worth a try

I received a private message from someone who saw this thread asking for step-by-step instructions for doing the OTA install. Here is what I did on my unlocked 8300 on the t-mobile network:

1. Open the browser (may be a t-zones link)
2. Navigate to www.operamini.com >> This page will tell you that your phone model could not be detected.
3. Scroll down to the "Download high memory version"
4. Click - follow prompts to download and install OTA.
