Default Opened mail on BB - Hiding opened status? BES 4.0 GW7.0

Please Login to Remove!

Is it possible to keep a message status unopened if you open it from the blackberry and the sender checks status in the GW Client? Right now it will say read if opened on the blackberry. The problem is some of my users are getting hassled for not responding to emails as soon as they are opened. Most of the time if they are out of the office they just like to read them to stay updated and respond to them in the office. Is something like this possible so that it looks as if they never opened it even though they did?

Thanks.

This is part of Wireless Reconciliation. If you disable this service it will stop synchronizing the read/unread marks. This service also does wireless deletion between BlackBerry and server.

This would prevent mail from being sent to the handheld though correct?

No. You are thinking of Redirection. Reconciliation deals with synchronization of read/unread marks and deletions.
