GW uses a Trusted Application Key.
I'm assuming you are talking about 4.1.2 instead of 4.2. When you installed it, did you install it with the OAPI connector or the SOAP connector? SOAP is ONLY supported with some newer releases of GW server 7.01. If you installed in SOAP mode, use the BlackBerry Server Configuration Utility to change the database. This will then give you the option again to select OAPI instead of SOAP.
If you open a DOS window and navigate to:
C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server
you will find a command called GWSystemAddressBookSync.exe. Run that in the DOS window then scroll back up to the line that you ran the command on, does one of the next two lines say something like:
MultiLogon Failed
If so, open the BlackBerry Server Configuration Utility and go to the GroupWise Settings Tab. You should have the following settings:
GroupWise Server: <IP to the GW server>
Port: 1677 (or whatever you use)
Admin: <User that has logged into GW at least once, use yourself for testing>
Application Name: RIM BES
Trusted Application Key: <This is the one you generated>
If you look in the MAGT log, look for "mailstore test" and see if it failed. Usually it fails becasue the admin user you specified in the BB Config Util does not have a Frequent Contacts address book.
If it's not picking up messages from the mailbox, 1 of 3 things are happening.
1)The Trusted Application Key and Trusted Application Name are not enterred into the BB Config util the same way they are in EDirectory therefore the BES cannot authenticate to the mailbox.
2) The wrong GW connector was used (OAPI/SOAP)
3) The message agent is not starting properly.
