From what I've read here you have to have BES that supports this feature. Cingular has disabled this feature with BIS. I use AT&T CallVantage specifically for the voicemail. I use the BB browser to log into the web page account and I can review/play/delete messages from that page. You can make a call then return to the borwser and that page will still be displayed. It is slow but it works well.

I just purchased AUDIOPOP from Virtual Views (Virtual Views Mobile Software) and am on BIS. It allows me to playback my voicemail messages that come to me as an mp3 file. It also playsback wav and wmi files. It is a very slick program and only $14.95. I am now a huge fan. Go to Virtual Views Mobile Software and check out AudioPOP.

Send the email from Vonage to your BES account....if you get it through BES it will play wav files. At least 4.1.3 does.

Default Play voicemails through email?? Vonage?

I bought AudioPOP and I can play the sample mp3 and wav sample file attachments, but I get an error message " Account not configured. Check settings" when I try to open my Vonage voice-message.wav files.
From reading the threads, it appears some people are not having an issue.
any feedback appreciated.

I have Vonage and before I had BES I couldnt open the .wav file. After I routed everything through the BES server I had no problem listening to the Vonage message attatchments.

From what I've read here, I'm not a BES admin, it depends on the version of BES to which you're connected and if the BES policy allows you to play the wav files.

FWIW, I had opened an account at GrandCentral: The New Way to Use Your Phones but never used it. Recently they came out with a client that can be accessed through the BB browser and it works great. This is what voicemail should be, short of a text transcription, this is a really slick interfaced designed specifically for mobile devices. Yes, you can play voicemail from the browser and it is free.

I have been having this gripe for years with the 7100s I have had, but in the end I just call back to the house, hit the * key when it starts spewing the we arent home message, enter my passkey and listen to my voice mails right over the phone. Its a relatively simple process, but yes, I would like them to be mp3s or something that is audible on the 8800.

this is the reason I'm antsy for BIS 2.3 to come out for us in North America (and hopefully Cingular will not disable that feature).

Listening voice mails attachemnts is also supported by DynoPlex Play All included in MasterDoc. It can be done in two ways:open this attachment right from network or save it to your device memory for further opening. Unlikely to other products on the market MasterDoc is a license, not subscription which ultimately makes it cheaper.

AudioPop will allow you to play mp3, wav and other audio files. Doesn't matter if you are on BES or BIS. I have been using it for a about a month on my 8800 (I am not on a BES) and I can listen to all of my voice mails that I get that come to me as a wav file. No problem at all.
