Looking For: Caller ID with City/State Display
Please Login to Remove!
Does anyone know if there's a program for the BB that would identify what state/city that an unknown call is coming from?
I've found programs like this for the Palm, but would find one for the BB extremely helpful.
ie - City ID by Cequint for Palm or WhozzCalling
thanks.

When you mentioned Unknown call, did you mean the caller id would not show on the screen?
I used to have a program which it does the Reverse Lookup on a phone number.
For some reasons, after I upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2, it is gone.

No, I was not talking about Berry411 / Beyond 411. I was talking about the Wgarage Reverse Lookup.

Supposedly City ID by Cequint for Palm or WhozzCalling does this on the Palm.

I started using callwave as my voicemail provider and have it set to text me when I miss a call with caller id info. Regardless of whether the call is unknown or not, the city and state are listed in the message. I do also like the fact that it uses landline info for it's caller id in the text message.

There is only one caller ID program I know of on blackberry: PhonePix - that displays the photo of the caller.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...caller-id.html
I guess adding city/state info should not be difficult for that guy.

I think what he's looking for here is an app that tells you the city/state of a caller who is not ID'd in your Address Book -- i.e. not, technically, an "unknown" call, but rather one that just pops up the number without a name. And he wants it to do it in real time, so when the phone is ringing he can look at it and see not just the number, but also the city/state from which the call originated.
I think he thinks that because I would KILL for that.

P.S. Not being a programmer of any sort, I know this is easy for me to say, but I wouldn't think this would be too terribly tough and as a database of the area codes should just give it away. But, again, I know squat.

Exactly (on all points).
It would be a killer app, and surprised it hasn't been built yet.
It would be helpful because I would know what (potential) clients/co-workers are calling me from their alternate numbers that are not in my phonebook.
ie - So if I see a call from Charlotte, I know it has a high probability of being Frank who works at my client down there. etc etc etc

Same thing here, except mine would be project-based. So, if I get a call from a city/state where we have a project going, I'd probably pick it up because there's a fair chance it's actually related to work; but, if it's from, say, Lincoln, NE, I'd just skip it.
Yes, if someone knows if this exists (or is easily doable), please let me know. I'm extremely interested.
