hi, I just purchased a BB 7100g after my other phone quit on me. Does anyone have any suggestions about a plan. I don't need it for my job just personal use. But cingular is charging out the ass for unlimited Internet time like 45 dollars (a lot to a college kid). which sucks because i planned on using the Internet to help navigate me around the city where my summer internship is. Any suggestions, people i could talk to, really anything that would help. thanks for your time.

if not i just paid way to much money for a phone that can just call.

I believe T-Mobile is the cheapest. I would suggest going with them.

I Pay $34.99 for unlimited data with a voice plan over $30 on Cingular. Comes to $65 plus tax a month.

Those of you informing him to switch to TMO, try to remember that $250 at the minimum to get out of his contract is probably a bit more than what he's looking to pay for at the moment.

$44.99 is for the BES plan. You can get the unlimited BIS plan for $29.99 with a qualifying voice plan.

You know, Wilkiag, I feel for you, but you should have asked and, most importantly, Cingular certainly should have informed you that a BB Data Plan is required and what it costs, up front. I think if they did not do so, you have every right to walk back in there and ask for your money back, contract dead.

Then go get your phone and service where you can afford it, like TMo.

I hate to thread jack, but how do you get that plan for so cheap? Cingular lists the 450 minute plan for $39.99 and the 900 minute plan for $59.99. Is it a corporate discount?

thanks for all the input. yeah i should have asked, but my other phone broke and i needed a new one quick and i though i could use then one later in life( when i get a real engineering job). and the TMO thing sounds good. but i like my rollover minutes and paying for breaking the contract is out the question. i just dont understand how tmo offers for 20 which i could pay and cingular doesnt. whatever thank again for all the help

Welcome. I still say you can return it and get the TMo version.

You are assuming he signed a new contract when he got the phone. He may have paid full price for the BB while in mid-contract. In that case he'd have X number of days to return the phone (I think it's 30 with Cingular), but he'd have to pay the early termination fee to end the contract.

No I am not assuming anything. I have no idea about his contract. Just that a reasonable person can at least attempt to return it, explaining their dilemna, and ask for help. It may not work, but it might. It certainly won't work without the attempt.
