Default Low Power

Please Login to Remove!

From time to time I will show a 90% charge or some high charge level on my battery. I'll put the Pearl in its OEM case and then pull it out an hour later to check mail or something and the low power lite is on. I can't get into the Pearl. The second I plug it into a power cord it goes right back to the 90% or whatever it was before.

Anyone having any similar problem?

Bennett, when you say the low power lite is on, what do you mean, what color is it? I don't understand what you are experiencing with the power going down in the OEM case, etc.

Try a hard reset and if that doesnt work get your battery tested. Prob a faulty one.

It's that faded yellow reddish color. First time I had to look it up to see what it meant. The battery indicates a level of 90% when I put it back into the case as normal. An hour later I take it out to check mail or calendar and the Pearl will not come on and the low power indictor is blinking slowly. (same light as the message indicator but instead of red it is this yellowish redish color.) I plug it in to charge and within a few seconds I can unplug and it is 90% power level again.

Yea, that is strange behavior for the battery, or the unit, whichever is causing it. I have not heard of that problem before, but there are some users on here much more experienced than I who might have, so give it over the weekend and see if anyone else chimes in. After that, you might try your seller and get a new battery and see if it continues. Do you have a friend with a Pearl who you could swap batteries with and see if it does the same?

I'll give that a try. Some other folks thought it might be the battery. It does not happen often enough to be a real problem so for now it's just one of those things...
