I have an unlocked Pearl and I want to know if it's possible to wipe it and flash it with Cingular/AT&T software? I know I have you use JL_cmder to wipe it, but then how do I go about loading Cingular/AT&T software onto it and where can I get the Cingular/AT&T software? Thanks!

You will still have the T-Mobile, Splash screens, but you can use the Cingular/ATT software.

Alright, got that, but Im confused at these steps

4 - Rename the BlackBerry.alx file located in your Installation Path (see above for full path name; varies for each handheld software installation).

5 - Download and extract the BlackBerry.alx file from the associated ZIP file for your handheld. This is listed above as BlackBerry.alx Download.


Does it #4) mean rename the original blackberry.xml file and #5) then copy the one I downloaded into that folder?

Yes you are correct in the steps listed. by doing this you will get all the themes. You can skip these steps if you don't want all the carrier themes

But theres 2 files in the download, Blackberry.alx and Platform.alx, but the guide only says to rename the Blackbery.alx so what is the Platform.alx for?

The platform.alx will enable the PTT feature on the Cingular Network I believe

Got it, thanks a lot for all the help!! This flash thing takes FOREVER!! And now I have to start all over again because I had forgotten to copy the new Blackberry.alx into the folder, I just renamed the old one and thats it :(...lol.
