BlackBerry Connect plans are available from Fido now that they carry the Nokia E62 but realize that only your emails are compressed. If you surf the web with a Fido BlackBerry Connect plan it doesn't go through the BlackBerry.net APN and you may end up with a VERY LARGE data bill.

No it's a bottom feeder carrier in Canada, now owned by Robbers Wireless - Somewhat of their consumer brand.

No Fido is a wireless provider in Canada. It was Canada's very first GSM provider and then was bought by Rogers Wireless.

I read just this week that y'all canucks now have more cellphones than landlines (it was some "first ever!" thing). It's a shame that you get robbed on data prices, I'm surprised someone hasn't gotten up in FIDO/Robbers kool-aid about this...

EDIT: are you able to get data use credits in exchange for tire dollars yet?

Hi, on your post you talk of a $25 for 3 Meg data plan from FIDO. I called them up and they tell me the smallest Blackberry connect plan is $40 for 7Meg. Do you still have this $25 BB Connect plan or have they changed their pricing? Thanks.

Both Rogers and Fido have a $25 plan (I think it's 4MB now) which they do not normally mention. Usually it takes some retention threats or high account value in order to get them. It also all depends on the CSR.
I've had CSRs who have basically said "see ya later" when I've threatened to leave, and other's who've bent over backwards without blinking. It's the luck of the draw

I just bought an unlocked pearl from T-Mobile and I got a data plan from FIDO for $40 (7MB). I went on fido.blackberry.com and I entered my PIN and EMEI and I signed up my email address successfully. However it told me that my phone is not registered yet and to refer to my Getting Started manual in order to get it registered. Any ideas what that means? Thanks
