Unable to enable Media Card
Please Login to Remove!
Hi Guys,
I have bought a BB pearl(t-mobile) last week. I got a 1 GB microSD card.
But I don't see a folder for 'Media card' ( like 'Device memory') on the media manager of desktop manager.
Though I can use this card as an additional removable disk, when I transfer files to the card, I cannot see these files in the BB.
Can any one kindly help me with the step by step instructions? As I'm music lover, I want to load some songs on to it. Btw, kindly suggest me any good stereophonic ear bud/phone for BB pearl.
Thanks in advance
RK

just a stab in the dark but have you formatted the card? If not go to options>advanced options>media card>media card support on> and format the card. also make sure your running on the latest operating system

is formatting necessary?
Is formatting SD card necessary?
This card was used by my friend who has T-Mobile Dash.
I got it from him.
Does formatting solve my problem?

Yes it should. THis way the Pearl will see the card as its own. You might also have to turn off mass storage support for the Pearl to play files from the media card. Give that a try if formatting doent not work.

I use the Shures E3c's. They are a bit expensive ($180) but are really good an blocking out outside sound. Come in very handy on transatlantic flights.

Also, make sure you go Options->Media Card->Media Card Support = On.
As well if you enable Mass Storage Support then the MicroSD drive shows up as a removable drive under Windows Explorer.

Yup that is true. The headsets are for voice only, not for streaming music. And the Pearl doesnt have A2DP, so even if the headsets could play music, the Pearl cant send music to it.

They are not more expensive than Cingular. Devices are about the same price, with Cingular being slightly more. Service is more expensive with Cingular. TMo offers a lot for the money.

The pearl music player works best with mp3's... i converted the songs which i had in wma format to mp3 (i picked only the ones i wanted to listen not the whole thing) plus, with Limewire (limewire.com) you can search and download the music you want only... great software... I suggest, loading mp3's into your pearl. I use a 2gb card, the max, the pearl can handle. I use the bb desktop manager to transfer my music to the bb card. works without an issue. So far have loaded over 150 songs no problem at all.

This is correct. If you have Mass Storage enabled, while your Pearl is connected to your PC you won't be able to browse the media card on the device itself. Once disconnected, then you are able to.
