Can anyone verify if the BB Dimension Today or BB Dimension Today Plus theme is available for the 8800? I am a new pearl user (converted from 8700c) looking at returning the pearl during the cing one month period and getting the 8800. With the trackball I have found the BB Dimension Today Plus theme to be invaluable. Does anyone know?

my 8800 has the Dimension Today Theme available right on the device - and I am using it now....no problems.

BB Dimension Today is available on the 8800 as a default theme. The Plus version has not arrived as of yet. Give is some time. I am sure there are people getting themes prepared as we speak.

What does the Plus theme have over the regular Dim-Today theme?

The plus theme has the added functionality of "top 5" apps - when you scroll (or is it "track" ) to the bottom of the screen on the pearl, it pops up a horizontal list of the 5 applications you choose to be at the top of your apps list. Therefore, you don't have to go scrolling through the whole list of application icons to find the one that you want. To me, this made the pearl even more usable as the 8700 with the dimension today theme.

I would go ahead and do the exchange before your 30 days is up regardless if the theme has come out by then or not. It'll be out at some point (or some developer will make their own) but once you pass those 30 days, your throwin out $500 out of pocket for the 8800 and not returning the pearl. Do it soon before you regret it. You can go without the theme for a lil bit

I have yet to see "some developer" make their own UI changes other than those that can be done in themebuilder (which is just cosmetic). Today is there, no Plus until it's up for download.

Uh you might want to try actually looking.

There is alot of themes available that are OEM. You might have to change the OS on the device to get Today Plus the same way i had to get Telstra to get the Zen theme originally on my 8700c.

Its part of the fun!!!

Themes are not UI updates. The Today Plus "theme" is a UI completely unique from anything else. You can reicon, recolour, rebrand the interface in many ways, but you still have the same interface you started with. To date only Icon and list themes on 4.1 devices can be made/moidfied, and dimension zen and list on 8100. Anything else like phantom, today plus, zen for 8700, etc, which have different UIs, were made by RIM.

I didnt say it was. And the post wasnt for you, it was to help the author. You obviously dont need assistance. So ill reiterate for for him again:

You will probably be able to get the Today PLUS down the road. If not as a download directly available from att or RIM, you should be able to get it by donloading an updated operating system. Similar to wiping the Cingular operating system and installing Telstra on an 8700c.

Everytime I go to mobile.blackberry.com --> Downloads --> Free Themes, it tells me "Sorry, themes are currently not supported for your software version."

I'd really like to install and use the Dimension Today Plus theme, so I guess my question is, is is available and, if so, where do I get it/how do I install it?
